Have you been referred by your family dentist or pediatrician?
Your child may have been referred to our office by your family dentist for a variety of reasons. Most often, it is because your child has specific dental problems that your dentist felt should be addressed by a pediatric dental specialist or orthodontic concerns that should be treated by a specialist in orthodontics.
At your child’s new patient visit, Dr. Solomon or Dr. Steinhoff will review your child’s records from your family dentist (which you should bring to your appointment) and perform a thorough exam. Dr. Solomon or Dr. Steinhoff will complete an individualized treatment plan for your child and discuss in detail the options in which to best treat your child for their next appointment.
We utilize a wide range of methods to ensure safe and comfortable dental treatment for your child; often allowing all dental treatment to be completed in one visit.
These may include:
- Tell, Show and Do (a method of explaining to your child every step of dental care)
- Nitrous oxide (laughing gas)
- Conscious sedation
- General anesthesia (provided by pediatric anesthesiologists from Oakland Children’s Hospital and ValleyCare Day Surgery Center)
